MCCA RFQ/RFP for State Lobbying Services
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen:
The Maine County Commissioners Association is requesting proposals for Lobbying services during the next Legislative year.
Our Association is a formal organization whose Board of Directors is made up of 15 County Commissioners; the Board responds to the common needs of the Counties including legislation. Additionally, the Board meets monthly with an annual meeting in January and an educational Convention in the fall.
Our needs require the monitoring of Legislative bills and programming, presenting the position of the Counties during hearings, guidance in the creation of responses and the initiation of actions that shield our property tax payers from additional State program, expense proposals.
Counties cover a myriad of the older public services, namely the Registrars of Probate and Deeds, housing District Courts and District Attorneys’ Offices and funding its staff, the Sheriff Departments, and creating, operating and maintaining County Jails, approximately 50% of our budgets.
We are the local governmental structure which lies between the communities and the State government according to their structural governmental hierarchy, with our funding supplied by property tax.
We ask that you consider responding to our RFQ / RFP below along with our current organizational chart for your information.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you!
