Emergency Management Agency Directors Association
The purpose of the Maine Emergency Management County Director’s Council shall be to further Emergency Management programs in Maine.
The Mission of the MEMCDC Shall Be:
A. To coordinate the efforts and talents of it's members in a common and united goal to protect life and property of all persons within the geographical and political subdivisions of this state against all types of disasters and to insure continuity of government, in accordance with the State Law and directives of the State Director.
B. To serve as a central point for ideas, common experiences and judgments, suggestions and courses of action between our members.
C. To act in cooperation with and serve in an advisory capacity to the Director of MEMA.D. To advance the cause of Emergency Management in all areas of the state through appropriate channels of administration.
E. Maintain and support a mutual aid system to further Emergency Management programs statewide to provide and receive assistance.
The Council is made up of the Director’s and their EMA staff personnel from the 16 Counties.
The Council manages the state EMA certification program called the “Certified Emergency Manager- Maine”.
